Billy Abbott has published The Philosophy of Whisky, a book taking ‘a short look at the history of whisky and how it’s drunk today’.
The book is accompanied by illustrations from the British Library archives and includes, according to Abbott, “one invocation of irony, lots of realisation that the English were complete gits in the past, and one severed digit”.
It was recently reviewed by Club Oenologique’s Joel Harrison who said, “at its heart, this is one man’s love letter to whisky, and one that everyone and anyone who shares Abbott’s passion should read. If you haven’t fallen in love with whisky yet, this might convince you otherwise.”
It is available directly from Billy’s website: https://philosophyofwhisky.com/product/philosophy-of-whisky/ and costs £10 for the hardcover edition.
