Beth Willard was first involved in wine as a buyer but is now a writer and wine judge. For nearly a decade Beth travelled the world buying wine for Direct Wines and received awards including UK Retail Buyer of the Year from the Drinks Business Awards, as well as Personality of the Year from Wines of Rioja.
She has now left the commercial world behind and is writing about Spain, her main passion and area of expertise, for publications like Decanter, as well as opening up Spanish regions to new audiences through reports for Tim Atkin MW.
She is the current Co-Chair of the Decanter World Wine Awards and is a member of the Gran Orden de Caballeros del Vino. Beth is also very passionate about the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and is a member of the Confrérie de Tokaji.
