Edan Barulfan is an Israeli wine writer, educator, consultant and wine judge. He began wine writing for the Israeli publication Grape Man, where he continues to write as a member of the editorial board today.
Combining his day job as a lawyer with the world of wine, Edan has gained strong expertise on Israeli and international wine legislation and published a book on regional wine classification.
His book, Zone Defense: On Wine Regions and Regional Classification Worldwide with Practical Recommendations towards Regional Legislation in Israel, played a leading role in the registration of Israel’s first wine appellation — Judea.
Edan has studied winemaking and grape growing as well as the WSET qualifications and works as a wine educator as well as acting as chief supervisor for Terravino — Isreal’s international wine and spirits competition. He is also a qualified tour guide and consults on wine tourism.
